Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT) to join our outpatient orthopedic team in South Yarmouth, MA.

Our primary focus is helping patients achieve their functional goals, reduce pain, improve confidence, and return to the activities they enjoy. We value professional growth and continuing education, particularly in Orthopedic Manual Therapy, and are committed to mentoring new graduate Physical Therapists and DPT students.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise in evaluating and treating patients with musculoskeletal conditions, orthopedic injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation needs in an outpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with orthopedic conditions, injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation needs.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient goals, and functional needs.

  • Implement evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, flexibility, and overall function.

  • Utilize manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and patient education to facilitate recovery and prevent re-injury.

  • Monitor patient progress, reassess outcomes, and modify treatment plans as needed.

  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.

  • Educate patients and families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and self-management strategies.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, in-service training, and continuing education opportunities.

  • Maintain professional standards related to patient confidentiality, informed consent, ethics, and professional boundaries.

  • Contribute to a positive, patient-centered clinical environment.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.

  • Active Massachusetts Physical Therapist license or eligibility for Massachusetts licensure.

  • Strong clinical skills in orthopedic rehabilitation, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and functional rehabilitation.

  • Experience with post-operative rehabilitation is preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to establish strong rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.

  • Proficiency with EMR and electronic documentation systems.

  • Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.

  • Strong interest in continuing education and professional development.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Continuing education certifications or specialized orthopedic training are a plus.
