Associate Network Engineer – Boston, MA (Hybrid, 3 days in-office)

$95-$115k base (DOE), 15% bonus


Our client, a leading global financial firm in Boston, MA (Back Bay), is seeking an Enterprise Network Engineer to join their team. This is an Associate-level role, so candidates should have between 3-5 years of experience max.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of enterprise networking experience in a hands-on operational role. We will not be reviewing candidates with more than 5 years of experience.
• Networking Expertise:
  • Working knowledge of Aruba and/or Cisco LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Understanding of core routing and switching protocols and concepts (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, QoS).
  • Familiarity with firewall concepts and basic security policy administration.
  • Exposure to AWS and/or Azure networking fundamentals (VPCs/VNets, routing, VPN connectivity).
• Operations:
  • Experience working within ITIL-aligned change management and incident response processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a methodical approach to problem resolution.

Preferred

• Experience with Check Point firewalls or Aruba ClearPass NAC.
• Basic scripting experience (Python, Shell, or PowerShell).
• Some exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform) and version control (Git) is a plus, though hands-on development of these skills is expected as part of the role.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, Aruba Certified Associate, or AWS/Azure networking fundamentals.
