Dex by Terra is hiring full-time Concrete Finishers in Hudson, MA. This year-round role supports a balanced mix of commercial flatwork, residential concrete, and decorative concrete projects, including slabs, warehouse floors, sidewalks, curbs, driveways, patios, walkways, steps, stamped, colored, and exposed aggregate work. Finishers may contribute as individual contributors, lead finishers, or crew supervisors. Work includes frequent regional travel, with transportation provided, weekly pay, overtime, and optional winter snow and ice work.
Responsibilities
- Place, screed, and strike off concrete to grade, slope, and elevation.
- Bull float and manage timing throughout each stage of the pour.
- Float, trowel, power trowel, broom, stamp, color, burnish, and finish surfaces to specification.
- Operate ride-on trowels and laser screeds as required.
- Set, check, and strip forms while verifying layout, elevations, and drainage.
- Establish and tool or cut control joints according to layout and timing.
- Cure and protect completed work using compound, blankets, and appropriate weather and traffic protection.
- Check concrete against delivery tickets, identify quality concerns before placement, and inspect completed slabs before leaving the site.
- Read site plans, grade stakes, and joint layouts; verify grades and establish joint layouts.
- Direct finishers and laborers when serving as a lead finisher or crew supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience finishing concrete flatwork.
- Ability to run a pour from start to finish and independently manage timing.
- Proficiency with screeds, bull floats, hand floats, trowels, edgers, groovers, and power trowels.
- Experience with concrete placement, grade screeding, bull floating, power troweling, surface finishing, formwork, curing, jointing, and crack control.
- Ability to read site plans and grade stakes and perform grade verification.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- OSHA 10 certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work, including kneeling, lifting 50+ pounds, and working in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with decorative concrete, including stamped, colored, exposed aggregate, or burnished finishes.
- Ride-on trowel and laser screed experience.
- Experience directing other finishers and laborers on a slab.
- Background in concrete finishing, screeding, power troweling, formwork, site plan reading, grade verification, curing, decorative concrete, or quality control.
- Portuguese or Spanish language skills alongside English.
