About the Role
CloudZero is at the forefront of revolutionizing how cloud-driven companies manage and optimize their cloud spend. We empower organizations to make smarter decisions that drive growth and efficiency by bridging the gap between cloud costs and business outcomes. Now, we’re looking for a skilled Full-stack AI Systems Engineerto take ownership of our AI orchestration and agent infrastructure, and to lead future development of intelligent capabilities across both customer-facing products and internal tools. This is a unique opportunity to shape the backbone of AI systems at CloudZero and bring agentic intelligence into the core of FinOps.

What You’ll Do

AI System Ownership: Take over and expand the current AI agent and orchestration infrastructure, including control layers, integrations, and execution engines.

Engineering Partnership: Collaborate closely with our existing dev team to ensure knowledge transfer, system stability, and continuous evolution of AI-powered components.

End-to-End Development: Design and build fullstack features—from backend orchestration to frontend interfaces—that leverage generative AI, agents, and automation.

Agentic Workflows: Develop multi-agent systems, RAG pipelines, and task planning/execution loops using tools and frameworks from AWS, Anthropic, and others.

Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with product, design, and platform engineering teams to embed AI naturally into the user experience.

Innovation: Stay at the forefront of AI advancements—especially around LLMs, orchestration platforms, and autonomous agents—and bring those into CloudZero’s ecosystem.
Requirements
We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable owning and evolving complex AI systems—and is excited about building smart, end-to-end functionality. The ideal candidate will have:

AI Systems Experience: Hands-on experience building and maintaining AI agents, orchestration layers, or task-based execution frameworks.

Fullstack Chops: Strong proficiency in backend development (Python) with the ability to work on frontend interfaces (e.g., React, Vite, Astro) when needed.

Cloud-First Thinking: Experience working in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred) and integrating services like Bedrock, Lambda, S3, or similar.

Generative AI Knowledge: Familiarity with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Elasticsearch), and retrieval-augmented generation.

Strong Collaborator: Comfortable working with distributed teams (outsourced or in-house) and partnering across disciplines.

Autonomy & Leadership: Ability to take initiative, drive clarity in ambiguous contexts, and make strategic decisions about architecture and roadmap.

Dev Tools & Pipelines: Experience with common dev tooling and build pipelines (e.g., Docker, GitHub Actions, CI/CD) and observability stacks.
Nice to Haves

Experience with agent frameworks (e.g., AWS Bedrock Agents, LangChain, CrewAI, etc.)

Background in DevTools, platform engineering, or developer experience

Experience with internal tooling, prompt engineering, or custom orchestration UIs

Exposure to FinOps or cloud cost tooling (but not required)

Compensation Range: $150K - $200K
