This assignment spans the 2026–2027 school year (August 19–June 14), engaging students across both high school and elementary levels. High school roles are part of an exciting pilot program prioritizing executive function, Autism, severe behaviors, and preparing students for real-world life and employment skills. The elementary caseload focuses on learning disabilities and high-functioning Autism, with strong supportive collaboration from PT/OT specialists.
Qualifications Required:
- Professional Vermont Teaching License with one of the following:
- Special Educator Endorsement
- Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement
- Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
- Experience working with students on the Autism spectrum and/or with significant behavioral needs
- Creative problem-solving skills and flexibility in teaching approaches
- Recent, approved school assignment fingerprints (or willingness to complete fingerprinting)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and innovative instruction to students with varying needs
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement learning plans
- Adapt to a creative, pilot program environment and contribute ideas for student success
- Support the transition of students to real world and workplace readiness
- Engage actively in professional growth and reflective practice
