Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification
  • Experience working with children or adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong knowledge of strategies, tools, and technologies for Deaf/HOH education
  • Collaborative approach to working with district staff, students, and families
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate closely with the district’s full-time Teacher of the Deaf to cover a diverse caseload
  • Consult with the district to set your preferred age group(s) or school(s), tailoring your impact to your expertise
  • Participate in IEP meetings and help develop individualized education plans
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress
  • Assist with implementation of assistive listening devices and accommodations as needed
