Key Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification
- Experience working with children or adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong knowledge of strategies, tools, and technologies for Deaf/HOH education
- Collaborative approach to working with district staff, students, and families
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills
What You’ll Do:
- Provide specialized instruction and support services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate closely with the district’s full-time Teacher of the Deaf to cover a diverse caseload
- Consult with the district to set your preferred age group(s) or school(s), tailoring your impact to your expertise
- Participate in IEP meetings and help develop individualized education plans
- Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress
- Assist with implementation of assistive listening devices and accommodations as needed
