Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid state certification or license in Special Education
- Experience in high school special education settings, particularly Life Skills classrooms, is highly desired
- Strong background in developing and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Skills in functional goal-setting, progress monitoring, and post-secondary transition planning
- Proven ability to direct classroom paraprofessionals and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and adaptability
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a dedicated Life Skills classroom, providing day-to-day instruction and oversight tailored to individual student needs
- Oversee classroom paraprofessionals, fostering a positive and productive team environment
- Develop, implement, and maintain IEPs in alignment with student assessment data and state requirements
- Set and monitor functional goals, ensuring students progress toward independence and successful post-graduation transitions
- Collaborate closely with families, administrators, and support staff to champion student growth
