We're seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a contract position in the Stepping Stones Program, working with elementary students in grades 1-3. This full-time opportunity covers the entire school year and offers the chance to start as soon as possible, with students beginning classes in early September.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Previous experience in K-3 or elementary special education settings preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and compliance processes
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and resourcefulness working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles and behavioral needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Differentiate instruction for academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and emotional support
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and aides within the Stepping Stones Program
- Maintain accurate records, monitor progress, and communicate regularly with parents and support staff
- Participate actively in professional development and school-based meetings
