This travel opportunity is seeking experienced pharmacists to support a large, Level I Trauma Center children's hospital with 1,500 beds. The position is based in Boston, MA, and offers a 13-week assignment beginning November 2nd. Candidates with inpatient pharmacy backgrounds, particularly those with exposure to pediatric and women’s health, are encouraged to apply.
The role involves working a mix of day and evening shifts with a rotating weekend schedule, covering five 8-hour shifts per week. Depending on your clinical experience and competence, you may be placed in clinical areas such as pediatrics or women’s health or take on operational responsibilities such as Pharmacist in Charge or sterile processing duties in the dispensing pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services in a pediatric hospital setting
- Manage medication dispensing and sterile processing operations when assigned
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal medication use and patient safety
- Utilize electronic medical record systems, including EPIC and Pyxis, to manage pharmacy workflow
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of pharmacy experience in an inpatient setting
- Completion of PGY1 residency or 2-3 years relevant experience if not residency-trained
- Prior exposure to pediatric and women’s health pharmacy practice preferred
- Ability to obtain a Connecticut pharmacist license quickly (7-10 days)
- Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems
Schedule:
- 5x8-hour shifts per week
- Combination of days and evenings with rotating weekends
