About Capital Tile & Marble

Capital Tile & Marble has served New Hampshire and Northern New England for more than 35 years. We are a third-generation, family-owned company, and we work alongside our sister companies, Rumford Stone and Surface Forms. Together we are building a more specialized surfaces installation business around high-end residential tile, large-format porcelain panels, and thin stone veneer, and we need a key field leader to help make it happen.

About the Role

If you are an experienced installer who takes real pride in your work, you probably already have a job. We understand that. We are not looking for someone who just wants another place to set tile. We want a craft professional who wants to help build something bigger.

You will start as a hands-on lead installer, running projects and producing exceptional work. As the company grows, you will help recruit, train, and lead the crews that come next, working directly with our General Manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Run residential installation projects from prep through completion
  • Install tile, natural stone, large-format porcelain, and specialty surfaces at a high level
  • Handle substrates, waterproofing, layout, setting methods, and finishing the right way
  • Read plans, specs, and job documentation, and plan the work before anyone starts cutting
  • Spot jobsite issues early and communicate them clearly, before they turn into callbacks
  • Lead installers and helpers productively and teach less experienced people
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, builders, designers, and the office
  • Own the finished result, including making it right when something goes wrong

Where This Role Can Go

This position is not meant to stay a senior installer job. As the operation grows, you can take on more ownership of:

  • Training and developing installers, and the next generation of crew leaders
  • Setting installation standards and best practices
  • Quality control and jobsite inspections
  • Recruiting and evaluating future field employees
  • Planning and coordinating work across multiple crews with the General Manager

What You Bring

Required:

  • Professional installation experience in tile, stone, or a related finish trade
  • Strong knowledge of substrates, waterproofing, layout, and setting methods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to regularly lift 50+ lbs and to kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods on active residential job sites
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to our Bow facility
  • OSHA 10 certification, or willingness to get it

Preferred (a plus, not required):

  • Experience leading installers or running jobs
  • Large-format porcelain, slab porcelain, or thin stone veneer experience
  • Experience with custom showers, mosaics, and complex layouts

We care less about a perfect resume than about craftsmanship, judgment, reliability, leadership ability, and character.

How We Work

  • Grow and Learn: Stay curious, keep improving, and teach what you know.
  • Do the Right Thing: Take pride in your work, be honest, and own your mistakes.
  • Find a Way: Spot problems early, communicate clearly, and help solve them.
  • One Team: Installers, helpers, PMs, sales, and the office all work toward the same result.
  • Deliver Excellence: Produce work everyone is proud to put their name on.

Already Working Somewhere?

That’s fine. The person we are looking for probably is. You don’t have to be unhappy where you are, and you don’t need a polished resume to start a conversation. If you’re curious about the work, the path into leadership, or what your experience could be worth here, apply through this posting. A resume or brief work history is welcome but not required, and every conversation is kept confidential.
