Step into an impactful educational support role at a welcoming intermediate school, working closely with 4th and 5th grade students in a classroom dedicated to autism support. As a contract paraprofessional, you’ll provide essential assistance, collaborating with educators and specialists to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
What You’ll Bring:
- Demonstrated experience supporting elementary or intermediate-aged students
- Previous background working in special education (SPED) classrooms, especially with autism spectrum populations
- Familiarity with safety care protocols and behavior management techniques
- Strong communication and cooperation skills
- Adaptability and patience in dynamic classroom settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering instruction and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Implement behavior strategies and utilize safety care procedures as needed
- Offer one-on-one or small group assistance, ensuring students’ participation and engagement
- Maintain records and collaborate with school staff on student progress
- Foster a respectful, safe, and supportive learning atmosphere
