Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Solutions Specialist to join our team. This role involves installing, configuring, and networking multifunction devices (MFDs), copiers, and printers at client locations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in device networking, scanning configurations, and basic troubleshooting, along with excellent customer service abilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Installation & Setup
o Install printers and MFDs at client sites.
o Connect devices to wired or wireless networks and verify connectivity.
o Configure print queues and drivers on Windows, macOS, and other client systems.
• Networking & Configuration
o Assign static IP addresses, configure network protocols, and ensure proper integration into the client’s environment.
o Set up secure printing, user authentication, and departmental print rules when required.
o Configure scan-to-email, scan-to-folder, and scan-to-cloud services.
• Testing & Quality Assurance
o Conduct test prints, scans, and copies to confirm proper operation.
o Verify security settings and ensure compliance with client IT policies.
• Customer Interaction
o Train end-users on device features, scanning workflows, and printing processes.
o Provide clear and professional communication during installation and handover.
• Troubleshooting & Support
o Diagnose and resolve connectivity or configuration issues during setup.
o Collaborate with IT teams to resolve firewall, SMTP, or network access challenges.
o Provide remote or onsite support to customers.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
• Experience installing and configuring networked printers, copiers, or MFDs.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network printing protocols.
• Knowledge of scan-to-email (SMTP) and scan to-folder (SMB/FTP) configurations.
• Familiarity with Windows and macOS print driver setup.
• Ability to read and follow technical documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High School or GED
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (to move and install devices).
• Ability to stand, kneel, and work in various positions during installation.
Preferred:
• Experience with major brands such as Canon, HP, Konica Minolta or Katun.
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory user authentication and printer policies.
• Understanding of MFD security best practices.
Work Environment
• On-site visits to client locations (MA, CT, RI, NH).
• Remote Work is available as an option when not in the field.
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary commensurate with experience. This position also receives a monthly stipend for fuel reimbursement/automobile expenses.
