Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity seeks an experienced Special Education Teacher for a full-time, full-semester contract in an elementary school setting in Cambridge, MA. The position requires a commitment of 32.5 hours per week, with work hours from 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM, starting as soon as possible and tentatively ending by the close of the 2025-2026 school year or June 30th.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of 14-15 inclusion students, providing tailored support and instruction.
- Collaborate with general education staff and specialists to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain documentation compliant with educational standards and district policies.
- Engage with parents and guardians to support the academic and social success of students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts teaching license/certifications in Special Education.
- Prior school-based special education teaching experience.
- Spanish language skills are preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to undergo CORI background checks and fingerprinting; a letter of suitability from a previous employer may be accepted in lieu of new fingerprints.
- Comfortable participating in interviews conducted via Zoom.
Location: Onsite at an elementary school in Cambridge, MA.
