Website Manager
The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA), a global media-monitoring and educational nonprofit, is seeking a Website Manager to take ownership of CAMERA’s digital home and ensure it reflects the organization’s mission and the urgency and impact of our work.
This is a hands-on role for someone who blends technology, design, and organization. The Website Manager will not only oversee CAMERA’s current site but also play a key role in a major upcoming project to unify several CAMERA websites into a single, new, modern platform.
What You’ll Do:
· Keep CAMERA’s website current and compelling by posting and updating articles, press releases, op-eds, and videos provided by staff and subject matter experts.
· Shape the user experience and visual storytelling by selecting, cropping, editing and optimizing photos, graphics, and other content
· Establish and maintain a clean, consistent design that is professional, engaging, and aligned with CAMERA’s mission.
· Manage and troubleshoot our website and work directly with outside vendors and developers on larger projects, system improvements, and fixes.
· Serve on CAMERA’s internal project management team overseeing the selection of a new website vendor.
· Work closely with that vendor on the design and implementation of a unified CAMERA website, integrating multiple existing sites into a single, streamlined platform.
· Collaborate with CAMERA’s IT Manager on website hosting, security, and system updates.
· Coordinate with CAMERA IT and vendors to troubleshoot and implement upgrades and integrations in accordance with best practices. Actively maintain alpha, beta and production branches of the CAMERA website.
· Ensure all web tools and data handling follow CAMERA’s cybersecurity and privacy standards.
· Monitor site speed, SEO, accessibility, mobile responsiveness, views and engagements, providing insights and reports on performance and usage.
· Ensure donation pages, newsletter sign-ups, and event registrations work smoothly and effectively.
· Collaborate with CAMERA’s program managers and departments to support initiatives and campaigns and highlight CAMERA’s work and impact.
· Monitor and manage functionality and brand consistency.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to leverage the website for process improvements
What We’re Looking For:
· Experience managing websites through a CMS. Familiarity with hybrid CMS platforms, WordPress, Drupal or a headless CMS environment like Contentful, Contentstack, and Storyblok is a plus.
· A strong eye for design and digital storytelling.
· Skill in editing and optimizing photos and graphics for web.
· Basic technical troubleshooting skills (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, PHP, TypeScript and Gutenburg familiarity a plus).
· Knowledge of SEO, analytics, and accessibility standards.
· Experience working with outside vendors, contractors, or developers.
· Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams.
· Familiarity with cybersecurity, data privacy, and best practices for secure website management.
· A passion for CAMERA’s missions, including promoting accurate and balanced media reporting on Israel and the Middle East, and exposing and fighting against anti-Israel and anti-Jewish biases, falsehoods, and narratives in traditional media, on digital platforms, and in K-12 and higher education.
Location: Greater Boston area. This is primarily an in-office position, with an expectation of working from CAMERA’s Newton office three days per week.
Salary: The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000. The salary will be based on the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
Reporting Structure: The Website Manager is a member of the Communications and Marketing Department and reports to the Director of the Communications and Marketing Department.
