Under the leadership of a principal with a special education background, you’ll work alongside a full-time interventionist and an SEL counselor, ensuring students have access to a range of resources to help them succeed.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education
- Prior experience working with students with mild to moderate specific learning disabilities
- Strong skills in developing and implementing IEPs, particularly targeting math and literacy support
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff and support personnel
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 22 students, providing individualized and small group instruction
- Develop, adapt, and deliver lesson plans that support learners with SLDs, mainly in math and literacy
- Collaborate with the interventionist, SEL counselor, and general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Maintain regular communication with families and participate in IEP meetings
- Contribute to the school’s vibrant culture, supporting initiatives that promote student well-being and success
