ABOUT THE ROLE:
CHCRR is seeking motivated, compassionate individuals to join our Medical Assistant Trainee Program. This structured, paid 25 week training opportunity is designed for candidates interested in starting a career at Community Health and becoming a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).

As a trainee, you will participate in a combination of classroom learning and hands-on clinical training, preparing you to support both clinical and administrative functions within our primary care practices throughout Rutland County.

Weeks 1-4

• Classroom learning with academic support

Weeks 5-10

• Coursework and clinical shadowing

Weeks 11-25

• Hands-on clinical training while completing coursework

Monday - Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM (30 Minute Unpaid Lunch)

This program includes training in:

• Medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Clinical procedures and patient care techniques
• Vital signs, EKG, and phlebotomy basics
• Infection control and safety practices
• Patient communication and workflow coordination
• Combination of online coursework and clinical experience

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

· Participate in all required classroom, online, and hands-on learning activities associated with the Community Health Medical Assistant Training Program.
· Successfully progress through each phase of the training program, including classroom instruction, clinical observation, skills development, and supervised patient care activities.
· Complete all assigned coursework, quizzes, examinations, competency assessments, and program requirements according to established timelines.
· Maintain regular attendance and active participation in scheduled educational sessions, clinical rotations, and assigned work activities.
· Demonstrate continual growth in clinical knowledge, patient care skills, professionalism, and effective communication.
· Work under the supervision and guidance of designated preceptors, clinical educators, providers, and clinical leadership.
· Accept and incorporate coaching, feedback, and performance improvement recommendations throughout the training program.
· Demonstrate proficiency in required Medical Assistant competencies before independently performing assigned clinical duties.
· Adhere to all Community Health policies, infection prevention standards, patient confidentiality requirements, and safety procedures while participating in training activities.
· Participate in clinical experiences across Community Health locations as assigned to support educational objectives and exposure to various practice settings.
· Prepare for and successfully complete requirements necessary to obtain Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification.
· Commit to continued employment with Community Health following successful completion of the training program and placement into an approved Medical Assistant position.

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong interest in pursuing a healthcare career at Community Health
• Previous healthcare, customer service, educational, human services, or community service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to commit to completing the full training program and continuing employment at Community Health in an approved position
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable transportation and flexibility across CHCRR sites

PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS & COMMITMENT:

• Complete all coursework and clinical training requirements (typically within 12 months)
• Successfully obtain CCMA certification upon completion of the program
• Commit to ongoing employment with CHCRR following program completion
• Ability to provide 3 professional references from employers, teacher, past volunteer work etc.
• Meet all competency and onboarding requirements
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
