Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support a student in a K-12 educational setting by providing dedicated 1:1 assistance in a Life Skills classroom. This full-time, contract role focuses on offering personalized care and engagement to a student who requires hands-on support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with toileting needs, including dressing, diaper changes, and hygiene
- Escort the student to and from the nurses office multiple times daily for g-tube feeding, administered by nursing staff
- Provide hand-over-hand guidance with classroom assignments and activities
- Promote the students safety, active participation, and engagement during school hours
- Support communication using an iPad-based communication board and other trial programs
- Collaborate with staff and family, with bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates preferred to aid family communication
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required, plus one of the following: associates degree, at least 48 college credits, or successful completion of a formal assessment such as ParaPro or WorkKeys
- Previous experience working as a school-based paraprofessional
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory
Location:
- Position is based in Springfield, MA, serving a student at a dedicated educational institution
Work Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:10 PM, full-time (3537.5 hours per week)
- Assignment duration through June 25, 2026, starting as soon as possible
