Job Description

Job DescriptionStep into a rewarding role as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Long-Term Care, based in South Burlington, Vermont, where every shift offers the chance to enrich lives, foster independence, and provide compassionate, person-centered care. In this specialized setting, your expertise will support residents as they navigate daily life, manage chronic conditions, and maintain dignity in every moment. Your hands-on care, clinical judgment, and warm presence will help residents thrive, while you grow a meaningful career in geriatrics within a supportive, outcomes-driven team. This opportunity is designed for professionals who believe in the power of respectful, individualized care and who want to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. And as you settle into Vermont, you’ll discover a state known for its natural beauty, from the tranquil shores of Lake Champlain to the hiking trails of the Green Mountains, plus charming towns, vibrant fall foliage, and a strong sense of community that welcomes healthcare professionals with open arms. Vermont’s outdoor opportunities and rich cultural experiences create a backdrop that enhances the meaningful work you’ll perform every day.

South Burlington offers a compelling base of operations with access to a network of senior care facilities, including partner sites across Vermont and the broader United States through our travel-ready program. Working here means you’ll enjoy a balanced lifestyle that blends professional growth with the chance to explore diverse settings. If you’re drawn to the prospect of expanding your horizons, there’s also the option to work in various locations across the U.S., gaining exposure to different patient populations, care models, and interdisciplinary teams. You’ll be part of a nationally respected program that supports your mobility, your learning, and your long-term career goals, all while enjoying the perks of a close-knit Vermont community.

Role specifics and benefits: As an LPN in Long-Term Care, you’ll provide essential nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. Your responsibilities will include administering medications and treatments according to physician orders and care plans; monitoring vital signs and responding promptly to changes in residents’ conditions; assisting with activities of daily living and promoting residents’ independence; delivering wound care and skin integrity management; performing routine assessments, documenting progress, and communicating updates to the care team; collaborating with an interdisciplinary group—including RNs, physicians, social workers, therapists, and dietary and activity staff—to implement individualized care plans; supporting residents’ families with education and care coordination; and contributing to a safe, respectful, and dignified care environment. You’ll also have opportunities for professional growth within geriatrics and long-term care, including potential specialization in areas like wound care, pain management, or palliative-focused pathways. The role emphasizes clinical autonomy within a supported framework, ongoing training, and performance feedback to help you advance.

This position offers competitive compensation and robust benefits designed to attract and retain top nursing talent. Weekly pay ranges from $1,953 to $1,969, reflecting your expertise, responsibilities, and the travel-ready nature of the program. You’ll have guaranteed hours of 40 per week, with contract lengths measured in weeks and opportunities for extension based on performance, facility needs, and your professional goals. In addition to fair and competitive pay, you’ll receive housing assistance to ease transition and relocation logistics, helping you settle into the Vermont community or additional assignments across the U.S. with less strain. A sign-on or performance-based bonus is available to recognize your commitment and contributions. Throughout your travel assignments, you’ll be supported by a dedicated team offering 24/7 assistance; this continuous coverage ensures you’re never alone—whether navigating a complex care challenge, coordinating with physicians, or troubleshooting logistical needs while you’re away from home.

Our commitment to your success goes beyond patient care. Company values center on empowering staff through clear career pathways, mentoring, and resources that foster professional advancement. You’ll find a culture rooted in collaboration, respect, and ongoing learning, where supervisors and teammates invest in your growth and celebrate your achievements. We provide ongoing education opportunities, orientation, onboarding support, and access to state-of-the-art tools and processes that help you deliver high-quality care and stay current with best practices in long-term care. Our environment is designed to be supportive and inclusive, with a focus on your well-being, work-life balance, and long-term career satisfaction.

Call to action: If you’re ready to bring your compassionate expertise to an organization that values your contribution and supports your professional development, apply now. This is your chance to join a team that prioritizes patient-centered care, professional growth, and a vibrant, supportive workplace in South Burlington, Vermont, with avenues to experience other communities across the country. Start your journey on 12/09/2025, with a contract designed for multiple weeks and the potential for extension as you demonstrate excellence in care and leadership in a dynamic long-term care setting.
