Job Description
This role involves a wide range of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical domains. The engineering technician will construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems. The technician will work from schematics, engineering drawings, and both written and verbal instructions, operating relevant equipment and conducting tests while reporting data in a specified format.
Responsibilities
- Perform integration, assembly, and testing of new systems, vehicles, and auxiliary equipment following work instructions and assembly drawings.
- Collaborate with engineering and software development teams to test and troubleshoot system-level issues with vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
- Interpret and understand diagnostic data and technical schematics.
- Set up and operate test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other electronic testing devices.
- Familiarize with general computer operations and perform basic soldering tasks.
- Troubleshoot Printed Wiring Board Assemblies (PWBA), assemblies, and modules.
- Resolve complex analog and digital circuit issues down to the component level.
- Recommend improvements for current procedures and assist Manufacturing Engineering in implementing new procedures.
- Work within prescribed procedures to produce sufficient quantities of functional PWBAs, assemblies, or modules to meet the Master Production Schedule.
- Discuss technical challenges encountered during troubleshooting or testing with the engineering team.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, soldering, and electronics.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and electronic assembly diagrams.
- Experience in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes.
- Strong electronic and electrical skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associates Degree or other 2-year technical degree in a related discipline with 3 years of related experience, or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
- J-STD soldering certification, or ability to obtain.
- IPC 610 certification for the Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies, or ability to obtain.
- IPC 620 certification for Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, or ability to obtain.
Work Environment
The position is based in a clean and quiet manufacturing floor, offering a conducive environment for focused work and collaboration.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Falmouth, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.50/hr.
