Berlin Health & Rehabilitation Center has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Barre, Vermont!
We are looking for a dedicated SLP to join our in-house rehabilitation team of outstanding professionals who provide person-centered care to our residents and patients. Our goal is to help each individual achieve meaningful outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compassion.

Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities

Evaluate residents for speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing deficits.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve cognition, communication, swallowing, and overall functional independence.

Provide skilled, medically necessary speech-language pathology assessments and therapeutic interventions in accordance with established plans of care.

Support residents in achieving their individualized cognitive, communication, and swallowing goals.

Provide education, training, and guidance to residents, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.

Coordinate and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures, including Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), as ordered and clinically indicated.

Demonstrate competent technical and clinical skills in accordance with current speech-language pathology standards of practice.

Monitor resident progress and communicate changes in condition to the appropriate members of the healthcare team.

Maintain accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Respond to family questions, requests, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Coordinate and provide training and support to Restorative Nursing and other care staff.

Maintain confidentiality and safeguard all resident and patient information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

Comply with all federal, state, and local legal, regulatory, and professional requirements.

Attend required meetings and participate in other duties as designated by the Director of Rehabilitation.
Speech-Language Pathologist Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care setting preferred.

Current knowledge of speech-language pathology treatment practices, techniques, and interventions.

Familiarity with the Net Health electronic documentation system preferred.

Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to effectively work with residents and patients with a variety of personalities, needs, and abilities.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to collaborate effectively with residents, families, caregivers, and members of the interdisciplinary team.

Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Speech-Language Pathologist Requirements

Active and valid Speech-Language Pathology license in Vermont.

Current ASHA certification.
-
Must be in good standing with all applicable regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
