This is an IT role, but it is not a coding job, and it is not about staring at a server. It is about taking ownership of the everyday applications that the people of Triangle rely on to serve our members.

What You Would Actually Do

You become the go-to person for the business applications that keep Triangle running. The technical pieces can be taught. What we cannot teach is the work ethic, the credit union mindset, and the willingness to own something and see it through.

  • Be the owner of our key business applications. Get to know systems like Symitar Quest, Synergy, ImageCenter, Entrust, ITM/Active Teller, Easywriter, Enterprise Workflow, Profitstars, Fiserv Prologue, Velera QuickAssist, RingCentral, and others. You will not learn them all on day one. We will train you.
  • Help people, not just systems. When a teller, lender, accountant, or trainer hits a wall in one of these applications, you are the next call after the help desk. You troubleshoot, you fix it, or you bring in the vendor and stay with it until it is resolved.
  • Coordinate upgrades and new releases. You work directly with our software vendors, plan the timing, test the changes before they go live, and let staff know what is coming and how it affects their day.
  • Train and educate your coworkers. When a system gets a new feature or workflow, you are the one who explains it in plain language to the people using it. If you have ever trained a new hire on a system, you already have a head start.
  • Manage user access. Set up accounts for new hires, adjust access when people change roles, and remove access when people leave, working hand-in-hand with HR and our Security team.
  • Document the way things work. Build the playbooks, configuration notes, and how-to guides that make Triangle stronger and less dependent on tribal knowledge.

The Honest Stuff You Should Know

  • Some upgrades and projects happen after hours or on weekends. We plan ahead, but the work has to happen when members are not using the systems.
  • You will travel between our branches when projects or training require it. Reliable transportation is needed.
  • You will need to be comfortable lifting and moving the occasional piece of computer hardware.
  • You will be the calm voice on the phone when something is broken. That takes patience and steadiness.

Background and Education

One to three years of experience in a role where you administered, supported, configured, or became the in-house expert on a business application. Credit union or banking experience is a strong plus.

A bachelor’s degree, or industry certifications, or equivalent real-world experience in our systems. ITIL Foundation is a plus but not required. We care more about what you have done and how you have learned than the line on the resume.
