Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join a law practice in Taunton, Massachusetts on a Contract basis. This role supports attorneys handling family law matters and plays an important part in keeping cases organized, moving forward, and prepared for court activity. The ideal candidate brings strong document drafting skills, sound judgment with confidential information, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day paralegal support for family law cases from client intake through case conclusion.
• Prepare and revise legal documents such as motions, pleadings, financial statements, discovery materials, and settlement-related agreements.
• Maintain case calendars, monitor key dates, and help ensure deadlines, filings, and required follow-up tasks are completed on time.
• Partner with attorneys to organize materials for hearings, mediations, trials, and other court-related proceedings.
• Serve as a point of contact for clients by sharing updates, gathering requested records, and coordinating meetings or schedules.
• Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, experts, and other outside parties to facilitate case progress and document exchange.
• Review, sort, and analyze financial records and supporting materials relevant to divorce, support, and related family law issues.
• Keep case files and case management systems accurate, current, and well-documented to support efficient matter handling.
• Assist with discovery review, document production, and preparation of materials needed for litigation activities.• At least 2 years of paralegal experience with a focus on family law matters.
• Working knowledge of Massachusetts Probate and Family Court practices and filing procedures.
• Demonstrated experience drafting legal documents used in family law cases.
• Ability to balance multiple active files while meeting competing deadlines with accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a detail-focused client-service approach.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or paralegal certificate preferred.
