Manager of Case Management

Position Summary

A Hospital in Boston, MA is seeking a highly experienced Manager of Case Management for a high-priority, long-term assignment. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the Care Coordination and RN Liaison department, ensuring efficient patient throughput, compliance, and excellence in discharge planning.

This is an urgent need requiring a candidate with a proven track record in healthcare leadership and acute hospital operations.

Contract Information

  • Job Order: MGB-26264
  • Duration: Flexible 13 or 20-week contract
  • Shift: 5x8 Days (08:00 – 16:30)

Key Responsibilities

  • Departmental Leadership: Provide strategic and operational oversight for the Case Management and Care Coordination team.
  • Workflow Optimization: Manage daily staffing, case assignments, and process improvements to streamline patient transitions and discharge planning.
  • Compliance & Quality: Ensure all case management activities meet hospital policies, state/federal regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Act as a liaison between nursing, medical staff, and administration to resolve complex barriers to care.
  • Mentorship: Supervise and support RN Case Managers, providing clinical guidance and performance evaluations.

Required Qualifications

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting is strictly required.
  • Clinical Experience: Significant experience in an acute care hospital environment.
  • Licensure: * Active Massachusetts RN License OR a Conditional License.
    • Note: Applicants with a conditional license must have already initiated the permanent licensure process. The initial contract will cover the duration of the conditional license, with extensions pending the issuance of the permanent license.
  • Skills: Strong expertise in utilization review, discharge planning, and complex care coordination within a major medical center.
