Our client, a successful mid-sized law firm in Boston, is seeking a Family Law Paralegal to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting multiple attorneys with a variety of family law cases, including divorce, custody, child support, alimony, adoption, and domestic violence matters. This role requires a strong understanding of Massachusetts family law procedures and excellent communication and organizational skills. This candidate must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work overtime.


Location: Boston, MA

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 (DOE) + OT Pay + great benefits

Role: Family Law Paralegal

Schedule: First few months in person, then hybrid (3 days in, 2 days remote)


Responsibilities:

  • Draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, affidavits, financial statements, and separation agreements.
  • Prepare discovery requests and responses (interrogatories, requests for production, etc.)
  • File documents with Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts (e-filing and in-person).
  • Conduct legal research and gather evidence.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness materials.
  • Schedule court dates, client meetings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
  • Maintain and organize case files and documentation in compliance with firm and court standards.
  • Monitor deadlines and manage calendars for attorneys.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a paralegal in family law
  • Flexible schedule required as overtime may be needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks
  • Empathetic and professional demeanor when working with clients in emotional or sensitive situations
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
