Our client, a successful mid-sized law firm in Boston, is seeking a Family Law Paralegal to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting multiple attorneys with a variety of family law cases, including divorce, custody, child support, alimony, adoption, and domestic violence matters. This role requires a strong understanding of Massachusetts family law procedures and excellent communication and organizational skills. This candidate must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work overtime.
Location: Boston, MA
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 (DOE) + OT Pay + great benefits
Role: Family Law Paralegal
Schedule: First few months in person, then hybrid (3 days in, 2 days remote)
Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents such as complaints, motions, affidavits, financial statements, and separation agreements.
- Prepare discovery requests and responses (interrogatories, requests for production, etc.)
- File documents with Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts (e-filing and in-person).
- Conduct legal research and gather evidence.
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness materials.
- Schedule court dates, client meetings, depositions, and mediations.
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Maintain and organize case files and documentation in compliance with firm and court standards.
- Monitor deadlines and manage calendars for attorneys.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal in family law
- Flexible schedule required as overtime may be needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks
- Empathetic and professional demeanor when working with clients in emotional or sensitive situations
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
