Looking for an impactful role in education? A contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher working with elementary students (grades K-4). In this supportive environment, you will provide services for a caseload of 10 students who are primarily included in general education classrooms, receiving a combination of push-in and pull-out support. Your expertise will make a genuine difference for young learners as you help them achieve academic and personal growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students
- Familiarity with general education and inclusion models
- Ability to effectively implement both push-in and pull-out services
- Preferred: Orton-Gillingham training or similar structured literacy intervention for supporting students with diverse literacy needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students in general education settings as well as in dedicated pull-out sessions
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies
- Monitor and document student progress towards IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and team conferences to support student success
- Utilize data-driven decision making to adjust interventions as needed
- Provide targeted literacy instruction, ideally using Orton-Gillingham or comparable methodologies
