Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 2B Special Care Nursery (NICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

  • Work setting is a 25-bed Special Care Nursery (Level 2B) within a hospital Birthplace unit, encompassing L&D, postpartum, newborn nursery, 2 ORs, 2 antepartum unit (ANU) rooms, and recovery room
  • Patient population includes all labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn patients with an average daily census of 15–25 mothers, babies, and labor patients
  • Clinician-to-patient ratios: L&D 1:2–3 (evals), 1:1 (active labor, magnesium drip, or epidural); postpartum 1:3–4
  • Night shift: 19:00–07:30, 36 hours per week, every other weekend (EOW) required
  • No floating required
  • EMR: Epic (charting experience required)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
  • Special Care Nursery and newborn care skills required
  • Certifications required: BLS (AHA only) and NRP (AHA only)
  • Active MA RN license must be provided at time of consideration; proof of licensure via both NURSYS and BON required
  • 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Flu vaccine is required; no religious or medical exemptions are accepted
  • Local candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
  • RTO requests must be disclosed at the time of consideration
