Marine/Boating Dealership Service Writer

Job DescriptionAre you ready for an exciting and rewarding career in the Marine Industry? Doug Russell Marine, is seeking a Marine/Automotive/RV Service Advisor who is a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized individual capable of coordinating the service work for customer boats and watercraft. This is a Monday through Friday, full time, year round position.

Responsibilities include-developing relationships with customers through successful management of service and product delivery, developing cost estimates, scheduling and tracking repairs, and documenting work to be performed and work that has been completed. The Service Advisor is the “go to” person at Doug Russell Marine when a customer drops off or picks up for service and is usually the point of contact throughout the service process. Experience in the marine, automotive, or RV industry as a Service Writer or Advisor preferred. Ideal Candidate will be a boating enthusiast with a friendly and positive disposition and a strong knowledge of boats and boat systems.

• Strong attention to detail in organizational, time management, observation and listening skills
• High level writing and computer skills.
• Mechanical aptitude

Duties:

• Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
• Building trust, educating customers, and framing recommendations around boating, safety, and longevity
• Listen to customer concerns and accurately document them
• Schedule appointments and maintain the service schedule
• Communicate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs
• Prepare accurate estimates for repairs
• Process payments and handle cash transactions
• Provide updates to customers on the status of their repairs
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
