About the Role:
Boston's Bridge To Excellence Inc. is looking for a passionate and creative After School Art Teacher to inspire young minds in Boston, MA! This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by nurturing artistic expression and creativity in students after school hours. Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate art lessons for after school program participants
- Introduce students to a variety of artistic mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
- Create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment that fosters creativity
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, structured learning atmosphere
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to support artistic development
- Collaborate with program staff to align art activities with broader educational goals
- Prepare and organize art supplies and materials for each session
Requirements:
- Background or degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field preferred
- Prior experience teaching or working with school-age children in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and art history concepts
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Patient, enthusiastic, and nurturing demeanor with a passion for youth development
- Ability to work afternoon/after school hours consistently
- Must pass a background check in accordance with program requirements
