Duration: 3+ Months (Temp to Hire)
Shift: Day & Evening shifts (varies)
Pay Rate: $17.89 – $22.30/hr (based on experience)
Job Summary:
The Patient Access Representative supports hospital operations by performing scheduling, registration, pre-admission/admission, reception, and discharge functions. This role requires collecting accurate patient demographic and insurance information and educating patients on financial responsibilities while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients and provide world-class customer service

Complete patient registration and obtain required legal/financial forms

Verify insurance, benefits, eligibility, and authorizations

Collect patient payments using compliant collection practices

Perform medical necessity checks and coordinate with payors

Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures and post-discharge care

Maintain accuracy in patient records and protected health information
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
-
0–1 year of customer service experience
-
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Typing speed of at least 35 WPM

Medical Terminology (required)
Preferred:

Experience in healthcare, hospital, or medical office settings

Understanding of insurance, compliance, and third-party payors
