About the Job

At our rapidly growing practice, Cardiovascular Specialists of New England, we are seeking a highly motivated Medical Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will work directly with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to facilitate outstanding care for our patients. You will work out of the Londonderry, NH office and report directly to the Lead Medical Assistant.

What you’ll do:

  • Interview patients and document basic medical history

  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports

  • Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services

  • Check with patients and type up patients' charts

  • Assist during medical examinations

  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms

  • Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records

  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments

  • Provide patient-centric service and care to all patients

  • Work independently and collaboratively with the Lead Medical Assistant to serve as a seamless link between patients, practice staff, and physicians to ensure optimal experience for all patients and practice providers.

  • Assist in addressing patient concerns and requests through patient triage, collecting pertinent information to escalate to the provider team as necessary

  • Prepare charts for Cardiologist - Prepare chart sections in Athena EMR at least 24 hours before the visit with the following; but not limited to: Reason for visit, Patient medication reconciliation, current pharmacy information, lab test results, Imaging testing results.

  • Any and all other pertinent medical information necessary for the care.

  • Execute intake checklist [as defined by practice], perform trained documentation workflows in AthenaHealth EMR

  • Perform and document in-clinic testing and imaging (e.g., EKGs, cardiac monitoring, ABI's)

  • Manage all aspects of patient prescription needs, including: placing orders, coordinating care with pharmacies, answering patient questions & managing renewal requests

  • Manage medication refills, prior authorizations, and appeals

  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in a healthcare office is required.

  • EKG Certification is required.

  • Strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), clinical and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrates strong work ethic and reliability (i.e. attendance and punctuality)

  • Ability to create and sustain meaningful patient experiences.

  • The ability to quickly resolve issues and think outside the box

  • Knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to efficiently communicate with patients and providers using appropriate language.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant in good standing required

  • Knowledge and use of EHRs (Athena experience is a plus!)

Work Location:
This role is based out of our Manchester, Londonderry, and Speare, NH offices and requires travel between sites.

Additional Information:
Full-time hourly range of $20-$24 per hour plus medical, dental, and vision.
