Job Description

Job Description Shape high‑tech manufacturing with Plansee in Franklin, USA

Plansee’s strong metals—tungsten and molybdenum—power advanced technologies around the world. At our Franklin site, we transform semi-finished materials into complex components through precision engineering. Join a tight-knit local crew connected to a global organization present in 50 countries.

A day in the life

Your week balances hands-on technical work (about 60%) with planning and coordination (about 40%). Mornings might start on the floor troubleshooting a CNC issue or performing a scheduled inspection; afternoons could shift to aligning the preventive maintenance calendar with production, closing out work orders, or coordinating vendors and contractors.

What you’ll take on

  • Execute and support repairs, installations, and facility upkeep across production and building systems.
  • Build, refine, and roll out a robust preventive maintenance (PM) program; keep the schedule active and visible.
  • Partner with the production coordinator and manager to sequence PM on production equipment with minimal downtime.
  • Supervise on-site contractors for safety, policy adherence, quality, and customer satisfaction within the plant.
  • Track departmental tooling, spares, and consumables; reorder to maintain optimal stock.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records, work orders, logs, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate HSE topics to meet legal and company requirements and drive continuous improvement.
  • Log maintenance actions and inspections with precision to ensure traceability.
  • Schedule external service providers for equipment repairs and manage parts orders.
  • Work safely at heights using aerial/scissor/boom lifts when needed.
  • Read manuals, drawings, and work instructions to diagnose and perform service tasks.
  • Troubleshoot using diagrams, sketches, OEM documentation, and engineering specs.
  • Interface effectively with machine manufacturers’ service and parts teams.

What you bring

  • 3–5 years in industrial maintenance.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude with CNC equipment, servo drive systems, automated systems, and general machining equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Excel); experience with scheduling and service coordination.
  • Proven ability to install, maintain, and repair automated and computer-controlled mechanical systems in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical calculations; read blueprints and schematics.
  • Comfort using a broad range of hand and power tools.
  • Experience operating powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts and aerial lifts.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Compensation and benefits

  • Pay range: $30–$37 per hour + Bonus plan
  • Medical: 90% paid by the company with 100% reimbursement on deductible
  • Dental and Vision coverage
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Time-off benefits
  • And much more

Core proficiencies

  • Facilities maintenance; equipment repair and upkeep
  • CNC machine repair; preventive maintenance and inspection
  • Blueprint reading; MS Excel
