Description\n
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU/PICU experience for a 4-week night shift contract at a Level 2 trauma facility in Berlin, VT.

- Position is based in a 100-bed acute care hospital with a Level 2 trauma designation
- Respiratory Therapy department serves all age groups, including ICU and ED floors, with a significant role in neonatal and pediatric care
- Equipment includes Hamilton C3 and T1 Ventilators, V60 NIV, Airvo 2, F&P Heated HFNC, and Bubble CPAP
- Ventilator management is performed by Respiratory Therapy in conjunction with Pulmonary Critical Care physicians and the Hospitalist service
- Respiratory therapy and anesthesia are both available 24/7 for support
- EMR: Epic; experience from within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
- Medication system: Pyxis
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- Schedule runs Monday through Sunday with no block scheduling
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- Holidays covered as needed, determined by supervisor
- No floating required
- No on-call requirements at this time
- Scheduling is managed through the 'When to Work' platform

Requirements\n

- Active RRT credential required
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required
- NICU/PICU experience required — facility does not have a dedicated NICU/PICU unit but respiratory therapy plays a significant role in neonatal and pediatric care
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
- Vermont licensure not required at time of consideration, but candidates must apply within 24 hours of accepting an offer; license required if applicable
- New York-licensed candidates will be considered with proof of a pending NY license
- Reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended, as public transit is not accessible in this area
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
- At least two professional references from a nurse manager and/or supervisor are required, with at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
- SSN and DOB required for consideration

- Follows RT-driven protocols for bronchodilator therapy, hyperinflation, airway clearance, and NIV therapy
- Applies mechanical ventilation protocols for ICU patients
- Orientation consists of 3 days
- Dress code: scrubs preferred in any color, closed-toe shoes required; jewelry permitted as long as hygiene practices can be maintained; hair and beard must be neat; nail polish must be free of chips or cracks

- Pay rates are tiered based on distance from the facility: travel (101+ miles), radius (51–100 miles), and local (50 miles or less); local candidates are accepted
