Essential Job Functions: • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Dietary Department and its programs and activities. • Coordinate dietary services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, etc.). • Inspect food storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control. • Review and develop a plan of correction for dietary service deficiencies noted during survey inspections. • Assist in planning the dietary services portion of the resident's discharge plan. • Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies. • Interview residents or family members, as necessary, to obtain diet history. • Participate in maintaining records of the resident's food likes and dislikes. • Assist in developing methods for determining quality and quantity of food served. • Assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by the attending physician. • Assist in developing diet plans for individual residents. • Review therapeutic and regular diet plans and menus to assure they are in compliance with the physician's orders. • Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, &amp; other departments in planning food service programs and activities. • Ensure that dietary service work areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. • Ensure that all food storage rooms, preparation areas, etc., are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. • Recommend to the Dietitian and/or Administrator the equipment and supply needs of the department. • Place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary or as may be required. • Ensure that stock levels of staple/non-staple food, supplies, equipment, etc., are maintained at adequate levels at all times. • Assist in interviewing food supply vendors, as may be required. • Assist in the purchasing of food service supplies, equipment, etc., as required. • Develop a written dietary plan of care that identifies the dietary problems/needs of the resident and goals to be accomplished. • Develop and maintain a good rapport with others involved with the care plan to ensure that a team effort is achieved. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or higher granted by a regionally accredited college or university with completion of the academic requirements of a program in nutrition or dietetics • Must be registered as a Dietitian in this state. • Must have, as a minimum, 2 year(s) experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility. • Must have training in cost control, food management, ant diet therapy • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors and the general public. • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as to be willing to handle residents, staff and visitors based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning. Key Responsibilities

<li>Installs, modifies and repairs pressured piping systems such as steam generation, steam heating, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, condensation systems, vacuum and circulating pumping systems in industrial operations and other equipment/systems as required and/or assigned.</li>
<li>Interprets from building plans, blueprints and sketches, plans and lays out routing, placement, pitch, elevation, pressure reduction, expansion and operation of various piping/plumbing systems and related equipment.</li>
<li>Sets up system routes, places hangers for proper pitch and elevation and determines and installs risers, flexible branches, expansion points, and pump connections.</li>
<li>Selects and obtains appropriate stock or materials per established procedures, and tools or machines for the job.</li>
<li>Performs work in the field and in the piping shop using related equipment of the pipefitter or plumber trade for the cutting, bending, threading and fabrication of various pipe sizes.</li>

Pays $23.48 per hour $36.00 DOE (Salary ranges provided are based on relevant experience and skill set)
 
LOCATION: 3368 Washington St., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130
 
PSI’s Permanent Supportive Housing Department provides comprehensive, intensive case management support to homeless and chronically homeless individuals in housing using the Housing First Model promoting long-term stability in housing and the end of homelessness in Boston.
 
The Case Manager works as part of an intensive case management team serving tenants who may be experiencing untreated mental illness, active drug and alcohol addiction, and other major health challenges. The Case Manager uses a Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed approach to working with participants, including the utilization of Stages of Change Theory and Motivational Interviewing techniques. The Case Manager is responsible for a specific caseload of tenants, and also for collaborating with other housing staff on program-wide efforts to stabilize and promote the individual growth of all PSI supported tenants. Additional case management responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting tenants with all required program documentation; assisting tenants with obtaining benefits, health care, educational opportunities, employment opportunities, and legal aid; supporting the development of tenants’ activities of daily living skills and creating individual service plans with tenants and maintaining all necessary documentation.
 
This role supports the development and its tenants. 3368 Washington Street is a new property. Pine Street Inn will provide supportive services, and the Community Builders will provide property management. Prior to the building’s formal opening, the Case Manager may elect to work a Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00 PM schedule. Once the program is fully staffed and the program is running per contractual requirements, the regular schedule for this role is as indicated above.

REQUIRED:

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
 
REQUIRED:

<li>Strong commitment to learning and using Harm Reduction and Motivational Interviewing skills in order to promote improved behavioral health among tenants</li>
<li>Knowledge of effective Crisis Intervention techniques and ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations</li>
<li>Experience working as part of a team</li>
</ul>
PREFERRED:
<ul>
<li>Experience working with individuals experiencing substance abuse, mental illness, trauma, homelessness and/or other complex disorders</li>
<li>Experience working with chronically homeless individuals in Housing First programs</li>
<li>Knowledge of local care-giving and advocacy resources for people experiencing substance abuse and dependence, mental illness, trauma histories, head injury, medical illness, physical disabilities, relationship violence, criminal and civil justice system involvement</li>
<li>Knowledge of government benefits systems, and Boston area service providers</li>
<li>Experience with HMIS</li>
