We are a non-profit agency founded in 1982 with a mission to advance the integration, growth, and interdependence of people with developmental disabilities within their own communities. The Medical Direct Support Professionals responsibility is to be a community connector and will be responsible to do community mapping with the individual to promote social inclusion. The Medical DSP will explore new opportunities for individuals to whom they provide supports and will assist with growth and unity within the community. Promoting abilities not disabilities and to develop a bond between individual and community, family, friends and significant other in their lives. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are part of a team that provides community-based support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is done one-on-one or part of a group. The support provided promotes overall community involvement and independence for the individuals we support. The support is tailored to the goals of each individual based on their individual service agreement. Activities may include, but are not limited to, yoga, pottery, cooking, music, volunteering, and physical fitness.

Summary: The Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional 3 will provide support and assistance to individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities during the overnight hours in Level 3 residential programs. Staff will provide support to individuals who need daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living while managing within a home environment and in the community. Individuals may require moderate to considerable physical assistance or accommodation. Staff will receive and must pass specialized training to provide enhanced supervision or interventions designed to address multiple disabilities, including behavioral support or enhanced medical care. Staff may be required to have specialized certifications; be credentialed or trained in specialized areas such as PAC or ABA techniques; and/or have advanced training in areas such as autism, behavioral supports, and/or healthcare.
Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 11:00pm-9:00am (30 hours per week)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ol>
<li>Provide support and assist individuals with all activities of daily living.</li>
<li>Provide services to individuals according to DDS, CARF, and all applicable regulatory standards and Bridgewell policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Maintain required documentation according to DDS and all applicable regulatory standards, and Bridgewell policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Assist individuals during the overnight shift.</li>
<li>Complete household cleaning duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Administer medications according to MAP regulations.</li>
<li>Maintain core training certifications including CPR/FA, OSHA, CPI, PABC, and MAP.</li>
<li>Transport individuals as needed.</li>
<li>Comply with Bridgewell Awake Overnight Call-In procedures.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>

Required Education/Experience:
<ol>
<li>Must have a high school diploma or GED. Associate's Degree or DSP Certification preferred.</li>
<li>A minimum of 1 year of experience working with people with developmental or psychiatric disabilities who have significant medical and/or behavioral needs is necessary.</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.</li>

Required Skills/Knowledge:

Direct Support Professionals are members of a team responsible for providing high quality direct care services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities while Residential Support Specialists work with individuals with various mental health related diagnoses. Looking for a creative, experienced DSP to support someone in accessing the community, personal care, and engaging in activities. This gentleman uses a wheelchair, so the DSP must have their own car that can fit the folded wheelchair. Creative communication is a must as he does not use words to communicate. His schedule is very active, but his mornings are leisurely, so this position includes support in his home in the morning. He enjoys going into the community and visits a variety of community locations including Upreach in Goffstown, NH.
 
Schedule: 8am-3pm, M-F, 35 hours.
