Summary: The Awake Overnight Direct Support Professional 2 will support and assist individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities during the overnight hours in Level 2 residential programs. Staff will support individuals who need daily intervention, supervision, and skills training in activities of daily living while managing within a home environment and in the community. Individuals may require moderate physical assistance or accommodation. Staff will receive specialized training to provide enhanced supervision or interventions designed to address multiple disabilities, including behavioral support or enhanced medical care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Resident Service Coordinator (RSC) is a member of the Special Programs Team. As prioritized by Property Management staff, Resident Service Coordinators work with tenants in designated BHA properties to resolve issues that are adversely affecting their health, well-being, and/or tenancy. Resident Service Coordinators (RSCs) maintain regular office hours at their assigned site(s) and meet regularly with Property Management staff to review new referrals and provide updates on ongoing case status and issues. If there are no new or ongoing urgent referral requests, RSCs will work on lesser-priority requests and on obtaining additional community health and wellness resources for the site(s). 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Meets with Property Management staff at assigned buildings at least weekly to review and prioritize resident referrals.</li>
<li>Establishes, posts, and maintains weekly office hours at each assigned building.</li>
<li>Meets with CBES Behavioral Health Consultant as needed for clinical guidance and to develop strategies to engage residents and achieve positive outcomes.</li>
<li>Conducts formal and informal needs assessments of residents referred and prioritized by Property Management staff.</li>
<li>Creates and implements action plans to resolve identified issues.</li>

<li>Periodically conducts community/neighborhood resource audits to identify and develop partnerships that help address resident needs and support resident involvement in the community.</li>
<li>Meets with Property Development staff and the Resident Task Force at least quarterly to discuss and schedule upcoming events.</li>
<li>In conjunction with the Property Management staff, notify all residents at least quarterly of the availability of the resident services referral system through flyers and any other means deemed effective.</li>
<li>Reports suspected cases of abuse and neglect to the appropriate entity.</li>
<li>Reports suspected Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FW&amp;A) as required by CBES FW&amp;A policy. </li>

About Integration &amp; Community Living (ICL)
MHA’s Integration &amp; Community Living (ICL) program supports individuals with developmental disabilities and brain injuries in living independently and meaningfully in the community. In partnership with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), ICL provides person-centered residential and outreach services throughout Western Massachusetts.
With over 60 years of experience, MHA has been a leader in helping individuals transition from institutional settings into homes where they can grow, make choices, and fully participate in community life. Services range from supported and shared living to emergency respite and privately funded care, all tailored to promote independence, dignity, and connection.

Position Summary
As a Lead Support Specialist, you will provide a supportive and safe environment in community residential settings within MHA’s ICL (Integrated Community Living) department. You will help foster growth, independence, and community engagement for individuals who have experienced a brain injury resulting in physical limitations, mental health, and/or cognitive challenges. 
Pay Rate: $21 an hour
Open Shift: Sunday through Thursday 3pm-11pm (40h)
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Provide respectful, person-centered support to participants in daily living activities, personal care, and skill development.</li>
<li>Promote community integration by facilitating access to transportation, social activities, and external resources.</li>
<li>Support participants' health needs, including medication administration (per MAP standards), appointment scheduling, and monitoring overall wellbeing.</li>
<li>Assist with financial skills and money management, maintaining accurate documentation of all expenditures.</li>
<li>Respond to emergencies and crisis situations appropriately, following agency protocols and communicating with supervisors.</li>
<li>Advocate for participants and help them build self-advocacy skills; serve as a liaison with families, providers, and community supports.</li>
<li>Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISPs), documenting progress and participation.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and health records.</li>
<li>Promote a safe environment by following all safety procedures, assisting with emergency drills, and identifying potential hazards.</li>
<li>Collaborate effectively with team members, attend training, maintain certifications (MAP, CPR, First Aid), and actively participate in meetings and supervision.</li>

Requirements

<li>Valid driver’s license, sufficient automobile insurance, an acceptable driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle during working hours.</li>

<li>Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.</li>
<li>Adaptability to participants' changing needs.</li>
<li>Ability to pass and maintain certifications in medication administration (MAP), CPR, and First Aid.</li>
<li>Must be at least 18 years old.</li>
<li>High school diploma or GED required; college degree in human services or a related field preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum of six months of relevant experience; experience with individuals with brain injuries, mental health challenges, or developmental disabilities is preferred.</li>
