ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Uses a pneumatic nail gun to repair or assemble pallets. In a repair department places pallet on repair table, removes defective boards, replaces new boards, and nails replaced boards into place. In an assembly department takes stock boards and nails together based on type of pallet desired. Responsible for troubleshooting jams and basic maintenance of the saw.
Work requires operator to stand for long periods of time. Operators must be able to repeatedly lift a pallet weighing 50-75 lbs. Nail guns must be operated with extreme care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Repair Operators must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Repair Operators must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.
Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

PREFERRED SKILLS
2+ years previous experience working in an industrial, fast moving setting with industrial machinery.

<li>Continuously improve manufacturing and materials processes using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools. Ensure full employee involvement in these plan-do-check-act improvement systems. Actively engage our Engineering and Continuous Improvement Departments in your improvement efforts.</li>
<li>Provide training and coaching to improve standard work, work center organization (5S), and housekeeping</li>
<li>Monitor/update/approve standard work for department/cell team leads and audit adherence to standard work for production associates.</li>
<li>Maintain equipment uptime and process capability at 98+% by effectively coordinating maintenance and repair services</li>
<li>Assure alignment with facility ISO and/or TS standards and all HSE guidelines </li>
<li>Assure all production records are accurate and completed in a timely manner</li>
<li>Schedule overtime and approve vacation requests aligned with production needs</li>
</ul>

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Minimum 5 years in manufacturing setting</li>
<li>2+ years in manufacturing floor level leadership</li>
<li>Experienced in Lean/Sigma principals</li>
<li>Previous experience in Metal Fabrication preferred</li>
<li>The most impactful layer of plant leadership – they work directly with our people manufacturing products, so their leadership is critical to the business’s success</li>
<li>In that light, they need to spend ~80% of their time on the floor. Management must minimize the impediments hindering them from being able to do so.</li>
<li>How they conduct themselves – their positivity, energy, focus areas, and leadership framework – has tremendous influence on how their people approach their jobs. Plant management has a key responsibility to develop and coach Supervisor Leader Standardized Work that’s cascaded from the Plant Manager’s job description.</li>
