Commercial Equipment Technician (Hot Side / Refrigeration)
Location: Colchester, VT
Employment Type: Full Time/Direct Placement
Pay: $27/HR - $40/HR Depending on Education & Experience

Our client is a well-established commercial foodservice operation in the Colchester, VT area with a strong reputation for quality and reliability. They're growing their service team and need a technician who can hit the ground running — someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with customers, and knows their way around both hot side cooking equipment and commercial refrigeration systems. This is a direct hire role with a stable employer that invests in its people.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial cooking equipment including fryers, ovens, steamers, grills, and broilers
- Service and repair commercial refrigeration systems including walk-in coolers/freezers, reach-in units, ice machines, and prep tables
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Communicate clearly with customers on equipment status, completed repairs, and follow-up recommendations
- Maintain accurate service records and parts documentation
- Respond to emergency service calls as needed
What You Bring
- 2+ years of hands-on experience servicing commercial foodservice equipment (hot side and/or refrigeration)
- EPA 608 Certification — required
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
- Comfortable working independently and managing a service route
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Professional, customer-facing communication skills
- CFESA certification or manufacturer-specific training is a plus
