Micron Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior CMM Programmer (PC-DMIS) / Metrologist to support our quality assurance and metrology functions. This role is ideal for a highly skilled metrology professional who enjoys solving complex measurement challenges, developing advanced inspection programs, and working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.


We're looking for a PC-DMIS programmer and metrology expert, not just a CMM operator. In this role, you'll serve as a key technical resource, helping ensure product quality while driving continuous improvement across a diverse mix of precision-machined, injection molded, and medical device components.

What You'll Do
Metrology & Inspection

  • Program, set up, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), with a strong emphasis on Hexagon PC-DMIS programming.
  • Develop measurement strategies for complex plastic and metal components.
  • Program and operate vision measurement systems and advanced inspection equipment.
  • Create and maintain CMM programs, inspection plans, and work instructions.
  • Support dimensional inspections, first article inspections, and ongoing production verification.
  • Perform Gage R&R studies, Bias Studies, and measurement system analysis activities.
  • Develop and support Statistical Process Control (SPC) data collection systems.
  • Train inspectors and manufacturing personnel on measurement methods and inspection requirements.

  • Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support Micron's Quality Management System and quality objectives.
  • Analyze quality and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support corrective and preventive action initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to metrology processes, inspection methods, and measurement systems.
  • Promote quality standards and best practices throughout the organization.

  • Validation & Technical Support

  • Assist with measurement qualifications and validation protocols.
  • Support product and process validation activities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Development teams to ensure accurate measurement methods and product conformance.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding specifications, GD&T requirements, and measurement methodologies.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers regarding inspection methods and acceptance criteria.

    What We're Looking For
    Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in metrology, CMM programming, quality engineering, or precision manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on CMM programming experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Hexagon PC-DMIS programming.
  • Solid understanding of dimensional metrology and measurement system analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Experience performing Gage R&R, Bias Studies, and SPC analysis.
  • Experience using precision measurement equipment, including optical and mechanical inspection tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in Quality, Metrology, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience with vision measurement systems.
  • Experience within medical device or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection molding and precision machining processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably IQMS/DELMIAWorks.
  • Proficiency with Minitab and Microsoft Office.
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician or similar certification.

  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
