Position Overview

\n

The Fleet Performance Intern plays a key role in evaluating the performance of the LGES Vertech energy storage system (ESS) fleet and/or overseeing execution of existing programs. The intern will analyze site performance data, identify trends and areas of opportunity, and share insights with cross‑functional teams to support data‑driven, first‑principles improvements across the organization. In addition, the intern will gain hands‑on program management exposure by helping coordinate cross‑functional initiatives, tracking deliverables and timelines, and supporting the execution of ongoing fleet programs from planning through completion.

Primary Responsibilities

\n


\n

The Fleet Performance Analytics Intern will:

\n

    \n
  1. Query and analyze fleet and site performance data
  2. \n

  3. Assist in cleaning, validating, and transforming raw data for analysis and visualization
  4. \n

  5. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to support internal stakeholders
  6. \n

  7. Identify performance trends, anomalies, and key metrics across the ESS fleet
  8. \n

  9. Document data definitions, assumptions, and analytical methodologies
  10. \n

  11. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and performance teams to understand data requirements
  12. \n

  13. Support ad‑hoc analyses and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  14. \n

  15. Present findings clearly through dashboards, summaries, and visual insights
  16. \n

  17. Help maintain project trackers, schedules, and action‑item logs to keep cross‑functional initiatives on time and on scope
  18. \n

  19. Coordinate recurring program meetings—preparing agendas, capturing notes, and following up on action items and open decisions
  20. \n

  21. Assist in defining project milestones, tracking deliverables, and reporting status updates to stakeholders
  22. \n

  23. Support intake, prioritization, and triage of incoming requests, tickets, or work items (e.g., Jira/Planner) for assigned programs
  24. \n

  25. Draft and maintain program documentation, standard operating procedures, and process workflows
  26. \n

  27. Identify and escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies to keep programs moving forward
  28. \n

Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

\n

    \n
  1. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
  2. \n

\n

    \n
  • Data Analytics
  • \n

  • Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, or similar)
  • \n

  • Computer Science
  • \n

  • Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
  • \n

  • Business Administration, Project/Program Management, or a related field
  • \n

\n

    \n
  1. Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (Snowflake)
  2. \n

  3. Programming (Python)
  4. \n

  5. Experience with or strong interest in data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
  6. \n

  7. Comfortable working with large datasets and learning new tools quickly
  8. \n

  9. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  10. \n

  11. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines
  12. \n

  13. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical audiences
  14. \n

  15. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  16. \n

  • Prior exposure to cloud data platforms, or data warehouses
  • \n

  • Experience building dashboards or reports used by others
  • \n

  • Familiarity with project/task management tools (e.g., Jira, Microsoft Planner, Azure DevOps) or project management concepts (Agile, Kanban, or waterfall)
  • \n

  • Experience coordinating team projects, events, or initiatives (academic, internship, or extracurricular)
  • \n

  • Coursework in energy systems, power systems, or renewable energy
  • \n
