Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide essential social, emotional, and behavioral support as a school-based clinician serving approximately 24 high school students in a drop-in model. This role involves conducting individual counseling sessions, facilitating small groups, and managing crises, contributing significantly to students well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and small group social work services tailored to high school students
- Address behavioral and emotional challenges through evidence-based interventions
- Manage crisis situations promptly and effectively, ensuring student safety and support
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and community resources to create a supportive environment
- Maintain accurate case documentation and comply with confidentiality standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field required
- Prior school-based clinical experience working with high school-aged students mandatory
- Strong understanding of social-emotional development and behavioral interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse student populations
- Ability to manage confidential information and handle crises calmly and professionally
- Reliable transportation for timely arrival and departure
Location and Schedule:
- Position available at a high school in the Springfield, MA area
- Full-time, 35 hours per week
- Start date as soon as possible through June 25, 2026
- Contract duration covers the current school year with a positive impact on students
