Key Responsibilities\n

  • Provide crisis intervention as needed, utilizing both brief and long-term therapeutic techniques within individual, group, and family therapy contexts.

  • Serve as a resource for colleagues, offering insights and expertise in psychosocial practices as well as providing staff training on relevant social work topics.

  • Assume responsibility for the clinical evaluation of patients experiencing emotional distress due to oncology illnesses, providing appropriate interventions and short-term counseling.

  • Participate in on-call rotations to address after-hours crises, ensuring constant availability for urgent situations.
  • \n

  • When necessary, initiate involuntary examinations under the applicable legislation and ensure safe transfers for patients requiring immediate care.
  • \n

  • Present at educational conferences, sharing expertise in psychosocial oncology practices and contributing to the professional knowledge base within the community.

  • Engage with the broader community through education, consultation, and research initiatives that support cancer survivors and mental health advocacy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work primarily with patients coping with a variety of mental health issues, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, and stress related to illness. Many of our patients are undergoing treatment for medical conditions, particularly oncology patients. This role involves collaborating closely with families to address their emotional needs and enhance their support systems during challenging times.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

  • Licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts is mandatory.

  • \n

Compensation and Benefits\n

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 70,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
