Job Title: Technician

Job Description

The role involves performing a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical areas. The technician will construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems. The work requires interpreting schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions, operating related equipment, conducting tests, and reporting data in a prescribed format. The role excludes technicians working in production or quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform integration, assembly, and testing of new systems vehicles and auxiliary equipment from work instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Engage in testing and troubleshooting with engineering and software development to identify and correct system-level problems with vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
  • Read and understand diagnostic data and technical schematics.
  • Set up and use test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other input/output electronic test equipment.
  • Perform basic soldering tasks.
  • Troubleshoot complex analog and digital circuits down to the component level.
  • Make recommendations to improve current procedures and assist Manufacturing Engineering in implementing new procedures.
  • Work within prescribed procedures to produce a sufficient quantity of working PWBA's, assemblies, or modules to support the Master Production Schedule.
  • Discuss technical problems encountered during troubleshooting or testing with Engineering.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, soldering, electronics, and electrical work.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and perform electronic assembly.
  • Competence in using oscilloscopes and test equipment.
  • Basic soldering skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or other 2-year technical degree in a related discipline and 3 years of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
  • J-STD soldering certification, or ability to obtain.
  • IPC 610 certification for the Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies, or ability to obtain.
  • IPC 620 certification for Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies, or ability to obtain.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wareham, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.50/hr.
