Job DescriptionManufacturing Technician COMPANY OVERVIEW:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

  • Assemble medical devices within a cleanroom environment.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assemble medical devices in a cleanroom environment per procedures.
  • Print product labeling per company procedures.
  • Package and label medical devices.
  • Prepare devices for shipping, including bulk packaging, labeling and creating shipping labels (e.g. UPS, FedEx).
  • Complete required manufacturing documentation and ensure that it is thorough, legible and complete.
  • Follow proper cleanroom procedures.
  • Proactively suggest to Sage engineers improvements which can be made to assembly processes, fixtures and procedures.
  • Follow all Sage quality system procedures as applicable.
  • Move materials into inventory and withdraw materials from inventory per company procedures.
  • Kit materials for device production.
  • Perform dimensional and other inspection of device components and materials. Properly fill out inspection reports.
  • Interact with coworkers and client companies in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prepare daily timesheets and submit completed timesheets on a weekly basis.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Any other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Manual dexterity: Skilled hands and excellent hand-eye coordination are required to ensure proper completion of device assembly tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently is required.
  • The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing is required.


PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2 years minimum prior medical device assembly experience is required.
  • Ability to interact with client companies in a professional manner.
  • English proficiency is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • None.

REPORTS TO:
Director of Manufacturing

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to move throughout manufacturing, office and laboratory space, using a complete variety of office equipment, machinery and tools. Must be able to lift more than 25 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear cleanroom gowning items (head cover, coat, gloves, shoe covers, facial covering if needed) and work in cleanroom environment for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work with chemicals found in a manufacturing environment.
