Restaurant Server

Hiring for Full Time and Part Time Roles

Restaurant server is responsible for creating a welcoming guest experience by recommending and serving food and beverages in a timely manner. The Server greets guests warmly, interacts with guests to receive orders, share menu recommendations, and deliver food and beverages in a timely manner and with the correct order. The Restaurant Server maintains a friendly, welcoming, professional, and attentive demeanor at all times. Service team members:

  • Are passionate about hospitality, guest experience, and great food
  • Are fully knowledgeable of the menu including ingredients, allergens, and wine recommendations
  • Work as part of a service team to take care of all guests in the restaurant
  • Ensure a positive guest experience

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly, present menus, take guests’ food and beverage orders.
  • Develop full knowledge of menu items, ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods to be able to communicate with guests
  • Accurately enter complete and accurate orders into POS system
  • Be attentive and offer excellent service, foreseeing guests’ needs.
  • Check in with guests during their meals to make sure guests are satisfied and/or address and correct requests/concerns
  • Refill beverages / take additional beverage and meal orders, clear items from tables, and assist team in resetting tables
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining a welcoming, clean dining area by tidying tables, clearing tables, making sure service stations are well stocked and clean
  • Receive guest feedback, complaints or concerns professionally and share issues with managers and supervisors when needed
  • Present checks to guests and process payments correct and expediently in point of sale
  • Participate in pre-service meetings. Attend training sessions as required.
  • Collaborate with fellow servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Perform side work during down time

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years fine dining experience
  • Ability to work lunch shifts, some night shifts, holidays, and weekends
  • Strong communication skills to professionally communicate with all guests and team members
  • Able to grasp and reach overhead
  • Ability to operate a Toast point of sale
  • Must be able to lift, move, and carry 50+lbs
  • Must be able to work 8+ hours a day on feet
  • Servsafe allergen certified, servsafe food handler and tips certified, or willing to obtain prior to starting (company pays for classes)
