Chef
Come join us at Carmel Terrace! A Faith-Based, Assisted and Independent Living community sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters. Located on lush, manicured lawns and gardens in Framingham, MA, we are just minutes from Route 9 for easy access to the Mass Pike.
We are seeking to fill the position of Head Chef.
- $23 to $25 per hour based on skills and experience.
- Shifts vary from 6am to 2pm and 10am and 6pm. Every Other Weekend required.
Head Chef Qualifications:
- Institutional chef experience required.
- Servesafe Certification required.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to follow production sheets and standardized recipes.
- Organizational skills and being able to work independently required.
Head Chef Job Summary:
- Supervisor Kitchen staff in cooperation with Director of Dietary/Executive Chef.
- Handle and prepare food in accordance with federal, state and local sanitary regulations.
- Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
- Meet time schedules for serving of meals and snacks.
- Ensure food items are prepared, cooled and stored in adherence to corporate, local, state and federal guidelines.
- Supervise and set up steam table for Main Dining Room and trayline meal service to facilitate organized, speedy and sanitary delivery of meals.
- Check outgoing food for proper amounts, types and quality of food.
- Properly care for dietary equipment.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, Department of Public Health and Board of Health Standards.
