\nBasic operation and inspection of various types of conventional or automatic machines used to produce\n
\nprecision parts and instruments.\n

Duties and Responsibilities:\n

- Ability to follow safety and standard operating procedures
- Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders.
- Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.

- Performs work under direct supervision.
- Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
- Mathematical skills.
- Technical expertise.

Education Requirements:\n

- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Basic communication and math skills

Physical Requirements:\n

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift and move materials and parts up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate machinery and measuring tools.
- Ability to visually inspect parts and read measurements and specifications.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery, noise, oils, and coolants.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
