Volt is immediately hiring Sr. CAD Design Specialist in Wilmington, MA
As a Sr. CAD Design Specialist, you will:
- Work with programs at all phases of the product lifecycle to develop and document designs from conceptual representation through final documentation.
- As a designer you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the product data through PLM and CAD tools within the appropriate processes and controls.
- You will be responsible for managing the overall product data with our PLM systems, ensuring best practices are followed to ensure error-free operation.
- You will be responsible for enacting design changes with direction from program and other engineering functions.
- This role is expected to be a subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of processes and tools and must be able to manage large, complex project models of substantial size and importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
- Communication will be within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes, and approaches.
- You will make significant improvements in processes, systems, or products and provide input into new products/processes and implement operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
- Develop and maintain solid models aligned with L3Harris processes
- Develop documentation (drawings, etc.) as part of a products data
- Oversee the quality of design data from others
- Recognize potential errors in design and data management and communicate to program/functional leadership
- Implement changes to a products data based on guidance from the program team
- Assist program teams in major milestones (reviews)
- Assist programs in task development as appropriate
- Assist the development of proposals
- Create and manage large and complex CAD models and their corresponding data
- Subject Matter Expert on process and product lines
- Subject Matter Expert on PTC CREO, and AutoCAD Inventor.
This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Requires comprehensive level knowledge of CAD and CAD Tools
- Comprehensive level knowledge of large model and data management best practices
- May have in-depth knowledge of project management.
- CAD/Technology Specific Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience. CAD/Technology Specific associate’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience including leadership in CAD data management and design.
- Experience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- AutoCAD Inventor
- PTC CREO
- Oracle Agile PLM
Pay Range: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
