Job Description

Who We Are

Enstall is the world’s largest provider of rooftop solar mounting hardware. Solar installers have depended on us to secure more than 3.5 GW of solar annually on residential, commercial and industrial roofs. Our brands in the U.S. include industry leaders IronRidge and PanelClaw.

What You'll Do

At Enstall, you'll play a key role in bringing innovative solar products from concept to production. As an NPI Engineer, you'll work at the intersection of Product Development, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, partnering closely with engineers and global suppliers to ensure our products are designed, qualified, and launched successfully.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving manufacturing challenges, driving continuous improvement, and turning great designs into scalable production solutions.

In This Role, You’ll

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between Engineering teams and manufacturing partners throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities to ensure products are optimized for quality, cost, scalability, and speed to market.

  • Partner with suppliers early in the design process to identify manufacturing opportunities, risks, and innovative solutions.

  • Support new product introductions through tooling development, process qualification, pilot builds, and production ramp-up activities.

  • Collaborate with Design and Quality teams to complete DFMEA, PFMEA, first article approvals, and product release activities.

  • Evaluate and implement manufacturing technologies, processes, and supplier capabilities that strengthen Enstall's product portfolio and supply chain.

  • Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives to improve product performance while reducing cost and complexity.

  • Lead structured problem-solving and root cause investigations to resolve manufacturing and quality challenges.

  • Support supplier selection, onboarding, performance improvement, and long-term capability development.

  • Develop manufacturing processes, assembly methods, packaging solutions, and work instructions that support efficient and sustainable production.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clear communication on priorities, risks, and milestones.

What You'll Bring

You're a curious, hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating across functions, and seeing products move from design to reality.

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, or a similar role.

  • Practical experience with manufacturing processes such as extrusion, casting, forging, roll forming, machining, stamping, assembly, and injection molding.

  • Strong knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Experience driving continuous improvement, process optimization, and value engineering initiatives.

  • The ability to balance technical detail with business priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Confidence working with suppliers, influencing stakeholders, and leading cross-functional projects.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences.

  • Proficiency with engineering drawings, 3D modeling tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • A willingness to travel approx. 40% domestically and internationally.

Bonus Points For

  • PMP certification or formal project management training.

  • Six Sigma certification or advanced Lean manufacturing experience.

  • Experience working with global suppliers, manufacturing transfers, or supplier development programs.

  • A passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and building products that make a meaningful impact.

Where You'll Be Located

This is a hybrid position (2-3 days/week in the office, or more when business needs dictate) and will be based in any of our main office locations (North Andover, MA, Phoenix, AZ or Hayward, CA).

What We’ll Offer

We offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, education and location. We anticipate the base salary for this position to be between $100,000 and $115,000 annually, if located in the Boston Area market. In addition to base salary, Enstall employees are eligible for either an annual bonus or commission, depending on their position.
