Union Biometrica is seeking an energetic, operations, purchasing and customer coordinator. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys variety. The right candidate will join our small team of high-energy people manufacturing and selling sophisticated, automated instruments used in cutting-edge biomedical research such as drug discovery, toxicology and genetics research. You will interact with engineers, scientists, manufacturing and customers and vendors. This is multifaceted job that supports all aspects of our life-science manufacturing business in Holliston, MA.
In this role, you will balance several responsibilities across purchasing, shipping, customer support, accounting, and general operations. Priorities will naturally change from day to day. You don't need to be an expert in every area, but you do need to be organized, curious and comfortable learning new things and wearing many hats. This position is the “glue” that holds operations together and gets involved in everything. You will work closely with the CEO, sales staff, service engineers and manufacturing technicians and be the first point of contact for customers and vendors, both domestically and internationally.
This position is based at our headquarters in Holliston, MA. This is a full-time position.
Qualifications
- Comfortable juggling many unrelated tasks.
- Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
- Enjoys working in a small company where everyone helps each other.
- Experience with large ERP accounting, purchasing and sales system.
- Strong communication skills.
- Likes figuring things out, learning new systems and helping the business run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities – a little bit of a lot of different things...
- Procurement – the whole process, start-to-finish, for production inventory, R&D, office and marketing.
- Shipping – coordinating and processing both international and domestic freight and small packages.
- Customer support – including quotations, order enter and consumable order processing.
- Accounting support – assisting with general accounting tasks including invoicing and collections.
- Comfortable running reports, maintaining spreadsheets, and coordinating company events.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office software, bonus if familiar with Microsoft GP Dynamics or similar ERP platform.
