Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler works as part of an assembly team to build and test complex vacuum systems on site. This role focuses on mechanical assembly, interpreting blueprints and drawings, and performing leak testing to ensure the reliability and performance of the devices. You will contribute to the full assembly process, from building components to testing finished systems, in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly of vacuum systems according to engineering blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Work collaboratively with the assembly team to complete mechanical builds and sub-assemblies accurately and on schedule.
- Use hand tools and mechanical equipment to assemble, fasten, and secure components and hardware.
- Conduct leak testing and other functional tests on assembled vacuum systems to verify performance and quality.
- Assist with wiring and basic mechanical integration tasks as required for complete system assembly.
- Interpret and follow technical documentation, diagrams, and specifications to ensure correct assembly procedures.
- Handle and move parts and assemblies, including lifting components weighing up to 50–75 lbs, while following safe work practices.
- Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues using strong problem-solving skills, escalating complex problems when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and contribute to a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
- Collaborate with team members in a group of approximately 25 people to support continuous improvement of assembly processes.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly using hand tools and related equipment.
- Capability to lift and move components weighing 50–75 lbs safely and repeatedly.
- Experience performing or supporting leak testing on mechanical or vacuum systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail when working with complex assemblies.
- Effective problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve assembly-related issues.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a structured production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with vacuum systems is a plus.
- manufacturing or equipment assembly is an advantage.
- Comfort working with wiring and basic electrical connections during assembly.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality standards consistently.
- Willingness to support continuous improvement initiatives in the manufacturing process.

Work Environment
This role is based in a new manufacturing facility, working with vacuum systems and related semiconductor equipment. The standard schedule runs from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime shift. You will work closely with a team of about 25 people in a collaborative, production-focused environment that uses hand tools, mechanical equipment, and testing devices such as leak testers. The workplace emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork while supporting hands-on, physically active work that includes lifting components weighing 50–75 lbs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Haverhill, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
